I think this was an insult to Adolf Hitler--at least he served his country and was a decorated veteran of WWI.

So - to get this straight - it's OK to make Obama into *Hitler* now? That doesn't seem the *tiniest* bit beyond the outer reaches of propriety? Actually - looks like a textbook example of Reductio ad Hitlerum.

And "at least he served his country and was a decorated veteran of WWI" - just, wow...

To the 1.35: I guess you've never seen what The Daily Kos and Moveon.org have been up to lately.

TH - I must have - never saw where Kos or MoveOn compared McCain to a mass murdering, genocidal dictator. Would you be so kind as to point me in that direction so I can hope to understand why you think there's an equivalence here?

To TH @ 8:43 AM,

You got the post’s parody just as you get the parody when people who listen to Sen. Obama proclaim that upon his securing the Dems’ nomination “the planet began to heal” parody St. Obama and The One.

To Anon @ 1:14,

So- to get this straight – you missed the parody.

Why?

People have been using Hitler as a parody prop for more than 70 years.

Remember Charlie Chaplin?

How about Mel Brooks’ "The Producers?"

Brooks wasn’t comparing the producers he ridiculed to Hitler.

Get real!

If you want a serious example of b decent people slimed by comparison to Hitler and the Nazis, you only have to think of Obama’s dear friend and supporter Sen. Dick Durbin’s comparing America's military at Gitmo to the Gestapo.

What did you say when Durbin slimed our military?

To TH and Anon again,

I’ll respond further to your comments tomorrow on the main page.
