A liberal media bias? Really?

The Rasmussen polling organization reports:

By a 39% to 20% margin, American adults believe that the three major broadcast networks deliver news with a bias in favor of liberals.

A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that just 25% believe that ABC, CBS, and NBC deliver the news without any bias.

Similar results are found for CNN and National Public Radio (NPR). By a margin of 33% to 16%, Americans say that CNN has a liberal bias. The nation’s adults say the same about NPR by a 27% to 14% margin.[...]

There is one major exception to the belief that media outlets have a liberal bias—Fox News. Thirty-one percent (31%) of Americans say it has a bias that favors conservatives while 15% say it has a liberal bias. [...]
All the networks plus CNN and NPR are seen as having a liberal bias.

Who would have believed that? Can it be true? What does the NY Times say?

A liberal media bias?

Why that’s like hearing President Clinton really did engage in sex with Monika Lewinsky or that Clinton’s spiritual counselor at the time, The Reverend Jesse Jackson, was balling with a member of his staff who later gave birth to a baby the liberal media referred to as a “love child.”

I mean, isn’t that the kind of stuff conservatives make up?

Further along in the Rasmussen report we learn:
Those not affiliated with either major party tend to see a liberal bias everywhere except Fox. Thirty-eight percent (38%) of unaffiliateds see a liberal bias at the major television networks while only 19% see a conservative bias.
So about 66% of people who self-identify as "unaffiliated" see a liberal bias at all major TV networks except Fox.

Do the Democrats know about this problem?

What will Dan Rather, the NY Times, Sen. Harry Reid, NPR, Speaker Pelosi, Newsweek, et all decide to do about “this problem” besides blame President Bush and demand an immediate surrender in Iraq?

The entire report is here.

Media bias springs out of a lack of ideological diversity in major newspaper newsrooms, as well as at the TV networks.

Liberal bias springs out of the current educational trends in the US, from Kindergarten through graduate schools! When cultural heros like Churchill are removed from text books to make room for environmental issues, we have lost our cultural and ethical moorings.

The liberal media have no heros. They are only critics. They foster personal anarchy but political control.

Because of the two biggest influences on our children, education and media, we are loosing the generations to skeptical, cynical, NEA idealogues whose stated purpose is to replace parental influcence with liberal dogma. It doesn't start with the media. It starts with the parents and the classrooms.

It will take a least a generation of alarmed and dedicated parents to turn it around and even then I don't know if it can be done.

Saddest of all, these media mouthpieces of the liberal agenda think they are espousing truth, when in face they subvert or distort truth to make their points. eg. Nancy Grace and the Duke Lacrosse Hoax.

Has she apologized yet?

They hound their prey, forcing people who made mistakes in their personal lives many years ago to resign from political / religious positions, while at the same time conspire with the biased media to send three innocent young men to prison. Why? Because it was dramatic, exciting, like blood-thirsty dogs... Because guilt is always more exciting than innocence? Is it money, programs, and print that drive their lives, and have they sold themselves out at the price of fame and a few years at the top?

Freedom SHOULD carry with it responsibility. In the media and elsewhere.

How is what Nancy Grace and the NO and others in media did in the Duke Hoax any different from what Rather did in eagerly rushing to expose a Bush story that proved false?

Rather lost his job.

How about some media justice for Nancy, and the others?

Here's a link to a video clip showing Diane Sawyer describing her "most hurtful moment". The courtroom broke up in laughter when the judge asked her whether she could be fair and tell the truth, and she answered "that's what reporters do".

I am sure this bias has contributed to the decline of newpapers. I read two papers a day for most of my adult life. No more. Instead of reporting, they write opinion pieces. None of the newpaper authorities will do anything. They can go out with a whimper.

MSM bias in not enough for the liberals. They want talk radio. We have to stop them from trying to pass the Fairness Doctrine.

Was the Rev. Jackson really ballin' one of his co-workers? Well, who would have guessed? The Rev. Jackson was Bill Clinton's advisor? Go Jesse Go! The whole of it is just fraud. Tough thugs like Jackson and the Duke Group88 pushing their own agenda over any real sense of responsibility to others.
