This time it’s Italians
CNSNews.com reports:
Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., pastor emeritus of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago where Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) has been a member for two decades, slurred Italians in a piece published in the most recent issue of Trumpet Newsmagazine.Have you noticed that no matter who else Rev. Wright is attacking - Jews, Italians, whomever – he always manages to spew some hate at America and white people?
"(Jesus') enemies had their opinion about Him," Wright wrote in a eulogy of the late scholar Asa Hilliard in the November/December 2007 issue. "The Italians for the most part looked down their garlic noses at the Galileans."
Wright continued, "From the circumstances surrounding Jesus' birth (in a barn in a township that was under the Apartheid Roman government that said his daddy had to be in), up to and including the circumstances surrounding Jesus' death on a cross, a Roman cross, public lynching Italian style. ...
"He refused to be defined by others and Dr. Asa Hilliard also refused to be defined by others. The government runs everything from the White House to the schoolhouse, from the Capitol to the Klan, white supremacy is clearly in charge, but Asa, like Jesus, refused to be defined by an oppressive government because Asa got his identity from an Omnipotent God." ...
Sen. Obama and his MSM flacks tell us Wright's hate rants are really just “snippets.”
Sure, and we're told the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon weren't really all that big.?
Besides, according to Rev. Wright and many other liberals and leftists, we had them coming.
The entire CNS story is here.

John: I've been aware of "Black Liberation Theology" (BLT) since my tour of duty in Chicago with Army MI in the sixties. It's a theology only in that its practitioners usually conduct their racist hate-fests in churches. They somehow transmogrify Jesus Christ into a ghetto Bro' who stands up for Black supremacy. All you have to do is listen to the likes of Wright to see the message is diametrically opposed to Christian theology where love and kindness prevail. BLT, on the other hand, is replete with hatred of the white race, is obsessed with the idea that white people are constantly conspiring to hurt or kill innocent black people, and the government of the US is a cabal of Republicans, the KKK, and various and assorted plotters whose main purpose is the mass murder of all black people. Does anyone believe that Barack Obama wasn't aware of what was being done in his "church?" And what right does he have to expect the rest of us to overlook what his "pastor" was saying? Wright is quite simply a racist bigot every bit as despicable as the worst Grand Kleagle of the KKK.
I spent the best part of my life instilling in my children the precepts championed by M.L. King, who said simply that we should judge others by the content of their character not by the color of their skin. I have judged Wright and Obama and I have found them sorely lacking.

John -
I second Tarheel Hawkeye's comments.
Just want to add that "Reveren" Wright seems to have problems with Jews as well but would you know it from the MSM? Nahhhh

Gee, found another snippet to use to tear down Obama. Perhaps he was too busy ducking those sniper bullets to pay attention during the sermons. Or maybe he was taking the WWFD (What would France Do) McCain approach to decide if he should remain a member there.
Quote: "We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism."
Roots. It is a "BLT" that is being preached at that church but I disagree that it crosses over from black liberation into black supremacy. Rev. Wright grew up in a time of racism and has not grown past his resentment of that. Obama has talked about him not recognizing that progress had been made. I beleive Obama represents further progress in overcoming both white and black racism. Unfortunately, as I have stated before, many folk are not going to be able to get past his heritage or his connection to this church and this pastor.
I don't know if there is a connection between this church and a predominantly white United Church of Christ I once attended, my decision was to never, ever go back. Still I respected the beliefs of those people that attended, they have a right to worship as they see fit and I would not let that be an important factor in my decision to vote for someone from that church. Romney did a good job, in my opinion, of separating his politics from his religion. It will be much harder for Obama to overcome.
Okay---Exactly what does Rev Wright's writing have to do with Barack Obama? Did Barack co-sign his name to them? Not!
Barack Obama is not responsible for what his pastor says or writes no more than I am responsible for JohnInCarolina's blog!
Just in case some of you have forgotten or ignored, there is freedom of speech! It is my right, your right, as well as Rev Wright!
Toodles!
Love and kindness are dominant in the black church, yes, even the church Obama attends.
I think Obama is in a better position than any of the other candidates to understand the difficulties blacks face and the solutions that will be needed to overcome those difficulties. I also think his upbringing will help him to be able to unite all people and work toward a common good - one that benefits all people of America.

Well, well, Justice 58 has joined the discussion. If I recall, it was J58 who, on another Blog, championed Mangum and constantly accused the lacrosse players of rape, sodomy, and assault--even after the Attorney General identified Mangum as a demented liar and declared the lacrosse players INNOCENT. Wonder what's the current story line from J58?

Tarheel,
I have a right to my opinion and I will exercise that right however, whenever & where ever I want to! Capeesh!
Hey--but lets not make this thread about Justice! Even though I am "all that"!
Barack Obama is the best candidate for the Presidency! He is a leader, uniter, and he can reach across racial lines to bring people together for the good of this country! Together we can make it happen! Together we can work together for a more Perfect Union!
IF, and that is now a BIG if, Obama becomes the nominee, the issue for the Republicans will not be his race or his association with Rev. Wright, it will be his voting record, which has not yet been completely revealed or discussed. Being much farther left than either Kennedy, Clinton or Kerry, that should pretty much foul him out of the game.
The good Rev. Wright may have more credibility if he would address the contemporary slave trade in Sudan and Mauritania. Muslims have been taking Africans into slavery for centuries and it continues today. It is happening right now, and not many are willing to speak against it.
"IF, and that is now a BIG if, Obama becomes the nominee"
-----------------------------------
Please! He will without question! And not only the nominee but the President!
You must have forgotten who Barack will be running against---John McCain! Poor John can't tell the difference between Sunnis & Shiites! Or whether it's Iran or Al Qaeda! Give me a break!
The Novemeber election will be a cake walk for Barack! And to the White House he goes!
J58: Time will tell.
58-Please tell me, what color is the sky in your world?
Red:
"Obama has talked about him not recognizing that progress had been made."
I don't believe so. After all, Michelle Obama pretty much indicated that no progress had been made, even aftr bringing in $300K per year. I guess she must have hit the glass ceiling. The good Reverend Wright can point to the "white devils" for her misfortune.
You couldn't make this stuff up in a fictional novel and have anyone believe it.

Pssst... Mr. Wright, Jesus was a Jew. The Apostles were Jews. Paul was a Jew. Your namesake Jeremiah was a Jew.
J58: When the Attorney General makes a legal finding, your "opinion" carries little weight. You're certainly welcome to have an opinion that has no relation to reality, and you certainly have a right to express that opinion, but when you opine that Mangum was, in fact, raped and assaulted by the lacrosse players, you show that your relationship to reality is quite tenuous. Capeesh?

OT-- does anyone here know whether or not Obama registered with Selective Service? Maybe I should'nt pay attention to rumors.
