60 Minutes: A few more thoughts

before tonight’s Duke Hoax episode.

It’s evident from 60’s pre-episode “releases” they’ll disclose a frame-up.

But how much of it?

Along with the roles on Nifong, Gottlieb and other police, I’m confident 60 will expose at least some of the frame-up enablers.

You know who most them are. Lot's of us have been writing about them for months. There are undoubtedly more but I think mose enablers are known.

Besides some particular enablers I’ve said I hope 60 will expose, there’s one more enabler I want to add to that list: Durham Police Cpl. David Addison.

Addison, who the Durham Police Department says in March was assigned full-time to Durham CrimeStoppers appeared in the Raleigh News & Observer’s now notorious Mar. 25 front page story headlined:

Dancer gives details of ordeal
A woman hired to dance for the Duke lacrosse team describes a night of racial slurs, growing fear and, finally, sexual violence
The N&O’s “story” tells readers:
[A]authorities vowed to crack the team's wall of solidarity.

"We're asking someone from the lacrosse team to step forward," Durham police Cpl. David Addison said. "We will be relentless in finding out who committed this crime."

He emphasized the seriousness of the accusations -- first-degree rape, kidnapping, assault by strangulation and robbery.
But the “wall of solidarity” was a vicious falsehood. The players had cooperated with authorities from the beginning, something no DPD spokesperson or officer besides Addison has ever disputed.

And what was Addison doing in that story in the first place. The DPD spokesperson is Kammie Michael.

Did Addison have anything to do with leading an N&O reporter to the alleged victim’s parents home where we’re told the N&O got it disingenuous interview with the alleged victim.

Why did Addison make many statements to media detailing a crime that even Sgt.

Gottlieb couldn’t describe until months afterwards?

Why did Addison on Mar. 27 print and distribute a CrimeStoppers Wanted Poster saying a crime had been committed at the party?

Why, when Addison was quoted on the “Vigilante Poster” the Raleigh N&O published and distributed to readers on Apr. 2, did he not say what he was quoted as saying was a falsehood?

Why does Addison refuse to answer the questions I’ve asked him in voice mails and asked his supervisors to ask him?

I'm sure you see why I hope we'll learn more tonight about Durham Police Cpl. David Addison.

I would imagine that the defense team will have private investigators research the background of David Addison, among others. Eventually, he will have to answer questions.

The 60 piece was good but could have been better. I have been folling this case very closly myself and Kim Roberts, is still lying.

She couldn't keep eye contact with Ed. and that is the tall tail signs of a liar. If you notice Collin, David and Reade never took there eyes off of him.

Ed should have hit her with one of her statements she made to one of the national media papers which I do have a copy of,and maybe then I would feel differently about her.
