Concerning the possibility that indictments in the Duke Hoax case might be dismissed because of massive investigative irregularities and the absence of sufficient evidence to warrant a trial, Duke University Professor Thomas Crowley tells Durham Herald Sun readers he:
“most certainly [does] not think the case should be thrown out just because of some half-baked and half-true legal opinions by people who don't know what they are talking about, and by a group of lawyers and advocates who seem to be doing their best to confuse the public."Crowley assures readers:
”I do not know what happened that night. I have no preconditioned preference for whether the accused were guilty or not.”But the professor with “no preconditioned preference” concerning guilt or innocence does want us to consider some important questions:
"Why are photographs available before and after the alleged event, but not during it? Is it possible that the photographer did not want to document what was happening during that time?"Well, aren’t we lucky to have a Duke professor with “no preconditioned preference” regarding guilt or innocence point out there are what he calls "before and after" photos but none during “the alleged event , [ possibly because ] the photographer did not want to document what was happening during that time?”
Question: Besides fooling himself regarding having "no preconditioned preference," do you think Professor Crowley fooled anyone else except perhaps colleagues like Professors Starn, Holloway, Rosenberg, Lubiano, Wood, etc, etc,?

And to think the press labelled my alma mater, Univ. of Miami(Fla.), as "Thug U.", because of rowdy , outrageous behavior by its football players in the 90's. Duke is the real "Thug U.", with its vicious administration and racist Duke 88 professors. Their hatred of the LAX-3 and what they supposedly represent is so intense that they wilfully endorse all of Nifong's due process and evidentiary violations. The more it becomes obvious to even a blind squirrel that the LAX-3 are innocent, the more "Thug U." wants a conviction. Add "Thug U" to Bush's Axis of Evil.

not being an attny--is there ANY type of recourse (legal) other than through voting, that can be carried out against Nifong? does he have free reign to try anyone (at his discretion) that he wants.
this is getting national attention, and it ain't good for ole mikey. should i fear that if i piss him off, he can come after me? i admit, i'm anglo-saxon/conservative. right down his persecution (sp) alley.

People shouldn't call either Miami or Duke "Thug U."
And while there's plenty wrong with Duke right now "Thug U" and Axis of Evil is a stretch beyond.

Attorney's tell me there are a number of recourses that can be carried out against Nifong but they will all take time.
I'll post on my understaning of what they've said this weekend.

It's too bad Crowley and other Duke faculty don't operate in environment where they accuss intelligent truth-tellers to whom they can say: "Now I've just drafted this op-ed for submission to the Durham Herald Sun. What do you think of it?"

The main characteristic of countries comprising the Axis of Evil is their Kafkaesque crushing of innocents by denying them truth and justice, and thus their freedom.They do it with false accusations that destroy peoples' lives; "show" trials where the innocent are convicted and imprisoned; intimidation of the populace to "stay in line" as they see it could also happen to them.
Of course these countries need accomplices, the blindly devoted, the apparatchiks, in order to rule.
So.....don't we have the same thing here at Duke? The government is represented by the DA Nifong, and the apparatchiks are a passive-aggressive Duke administration, the Duke 88 professors, and a sycophantic local media. You don't think thugs wear suits and ties and have advanced degrees? Get your head out of the sand. You're in the midst of pure evil.
