Some Democrats have worked themselves into a lather over a New York Times report that Carl Rove, Bush's chief political adviser, said in a speech Wednesday that "'liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers.'"
The Dems are demanding Rove "either apologize or resign."
But their Chairman, Howard Dean, said he wanted a jury trial for Osama bin Laden and wouldn't believe him guilty of planning and ordering the 9/11 attrocities until he was convicted by a jury.
And their most recent presidential candidate, Sen. John Kerry, said that the fight against terrorism was "primarily an intelligence and law enforcement operation."
And don't Sens. Kennedy and Durbin and Reps. Pelosi and Conyers believe Americans won't be able to relax until our military does a better job of handing out Korans and serving rice pilaf at Guantanamo?
Rove just spoke the truth.

Rove only said what Dean and Kerry wanted

Senator Hagel this past week said that we are losing the war in Iraq. When AL-Jazeerah runs this on their network and declares that a REPUBLICAN US SENATOR is claiming that America is losing the war in Iraq, it will not only only bolster Osama Bin Laden and his cohorts, but it will also demoralize our troops and further imperil them by encouraging our enemies. Ironically, Chuck Hagel has desires to be the president of this nation. Will America vote for a traitor for President? I hope not. This is much more demoralizing than anything Dick Durbin said. Where is the Republican party’s outrage? Where is Karl Rove’s outrage? Where is Mayor Daley’s outrage.

FAMILIES OF 9-11 in official press release
As families whose relatives were victims of the 9/11 terror attacks, we believe it is an outrage that any Democrat, any Republican, any conservative or any liberal, stakes a “high ground” position based upon the September 11th death and destruction. Doing so assumes that all those who died and their loved ones would agree. In truth, some would and some would not. By definition the conduct is divisive and, because it is intended to be self-serving and politicizes 9/11, it is offensive.
We are calling on Karl Rove to resist his temptations and stop trying to reap political gain in the tragic misfortune of others. His comments are not welcome.
ABC - You tell 'em!
I was reading a book about WWII and it mentioned, in passing, that Time made an error and referred to FDR being "wheeled to the table" - there being an informal agreement to mute discussion on FDR's infirmity.
See, the press realized that aid and comfort to the enemy was ... bad.
Today CNN and others use the enemy as a rich market for news and advertising.

On the Senate floor today, John Kerry said this about Karl Rove's comments: ". . . don’t dare question the patriotism of Americans who offer a better direction."
This is Kerry's definition of those "liberals" to whom Rove referred: " . . . Americans who offer a better direction."
