This made us both laugh

My wife's away and I sometimes shut off the phones when I'm working at home.

A few hours ago I got an email from her. It included this:
I called you this AM...but put in a wrong digit, and some sweet young lady answered...really startled me.
We talked about it a while ago and both laughed.

This, on the other hand is not funny. Slick Willie Clinton was quoted in a speech yesterday warning that POWs often have flashbacks and go nuts. Is this a not-so-subtle suggestion that McCain might be a Manchurian Candidate? Looking deeper, it could be that this is a way for Clinton to undercut Mr. Obama's strength. This has been suggested by Dick Morris for some time. Could be the prophecy is coming true.

    This is not funny either-

    Rasmussen Report
Congressional Approval Falls to Single Digits for First Time Ever

Most voters (72%) think most members of Congress are more interested in furthering their own political careers. Just 14% believe members are genuinely interested in helping people.

So what do we have as our presidential candidates? Two Senators, with single digit approval. I can’t understand in a country as great as the USA how we arrived at these two candidates.

John, since I was the wife, I get to weigh in and laugh both with you and at myself. Many, many years ago, my darling husband and I were on vacation and when he called his office, he was told that he needed to return a call. He scribbled, "Marcia McClellan." (His handwriting was not so hot) I stewed over his note for several hours and at dinner that night, I finally burst out, "Who the heck is Marcia and how do you know her?" He fell over laughing....the call was from an attorney at Marsh McLendon! Oh, well, he knew I was still in love with him and thought he was cute enough to be pursued by another woman!
