I saw it many times, but it was so shocking, I did not focus on some of his lesser rants.

The You Tube video referenced below is a good one in that it includes the sermon, and then Greta Van Susteren questioning Al Sharpton about the hate speech involved.

Rev. Wright also attacked Justice Thomas, Colin Powell, and even Tiger Woods.

Google has 207 entries for "Skeeza Rice”, used as an exact search term.

Al Sharpton vs Greta Van Susteren ROUND-2
http://youtube.com/watch?v=85S0PIPv5Co&watch_responseAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13073631.post-62814547078474745012008-05-31T23:35:00.000-04:002008-05-31T23:35:00.000-04:00To TH via JnC -I haven't thanked you in some of th...To TH via JnC -

I haven't thanked you in some of the other of John's postings where you have complimented my comments, so - thank you.

I just want to add that I do think blacks did suffer racism and discrimination in no small measure, but a lot of that came to an end in the 1970s and 1980s. To continue this victimology rant is counterproductive. Some blacks have gotten over it, but obviously many haven't.

Many others who have come to the shores have been discriminated against in one way or another. Yet they assimilated into American life and become productive Americans. Blacks should look to them and not to past wrongs. As economists are wont to say: sunk costs are sunk, meaning, you can't change the past, you can only go forward (having learned from the past). Blacks need to realize that hatred like that expressed by the "Reverend" Wright, "Father" Plfeger and others will get them nowhere, except to wallow in self-pity, and it will prevent them from moving forward.

Jack in Silver SpringAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13073631.post-55098236473111012672008-05-30T15:35:00.000-04:002008-05-30T15:35:00.000-04:00Jack has it right: hate is definitely the word. A...Jack has it right: hate is definitely the word. And in churches, of all places. I'm over it, folks. I don't want to hear any more whining about slavery and how bad the Black folks have been treated. I've never owned a slave nor has anyone in my family, and I've always tried to treat everyone--including Black folks--the way I would want to be treated. And now, because of my skin color, these race hustlers strut around their churches and demean me and all caucasians. I've got two words for them and they aren't "happy birthday."
Tarheel HawkeyeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13073631.post-49326860436669777422008-05-30T13:53:00.000-04:002008-05-30T13:53:00.000-04:00John -I didn't know the N word was a term of endea...John -

I didn't know the N word was a term of endearment, did you? I remember a white aide to the mayor of DC, Anthony Williams, who was forced out of position because he used the word, niggardly (which is from an entirely different root and language, and which means something entirely different). If this whole matter weren't so serious, I would think it was a joke.

I also got to say that Obama associates with some people who are mighty full of hate.

Jack in Silver SpringAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
