On the one hand there is the suggestion that there was some problem about a housekeeper's employment that would disqualify her and then later in the article there is the suggestion that some family matter - not the illness of her uncle - which led her to call Patterson and withdraw her name for the Senate position. I suppose that, like with many of the Kennedy soap operas, the real story will never emerge. However, the good news for the citizens of New York is that they will have someone other than a poster child for inarticulateness and indecisiveness.
cksAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13073631.post-88687147576471165342009-01-22T09:58:00.000-05:002009-01-22T09:58:00.000-05:00I wonder how mawkish Ellen Goodman and other Lefty...I wonder how mawkish Ellen Goodman and other Lefty columnists will get over Kennedy's non-anointment as Senator from Camelot.

"Oh, what might have been if some Kennedy magic dust were spread across the Empire State!"

Lloyd Bentsen told Dan Quayle, "You're no Jack Kennedy." Well, there is no JFK among the third generation of this family. They are mostly drug addicts and mediocrities whose political fortunes are fueled by a cult of dreamers who seek to be the subjects of an American royal family.

It is pathetic that she was ever taken seriously.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13073631.post-51301715955411225512009-01-22T08:27:00.000-05:002009-01-22T08:27:00.000-05:00To the 10.57: The MSM frequently breaks the news, ...To the 10.57:
The MSM frequently breaks the news, but then they begin their interpretation and spin. It's at that point that bloggers begin performing a public service formerly accomplished by dedicated and professional reporters. You obviously are an apologist for MSM so it's likely you have never removed the blindfold from your eyes to see the bias and bigotry that drives MSM today.
Tarheel HawkeyeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13073631.post-84001520234614808102009-01-22T00:32:00.000-05:002009-01-22T00:32:00.000-05:00LOL, what a soap opera:Person close to Kennedy dec...LOL, what a soap opera:

Person close to Kennedy decision: She's in race

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090122/ap_on_re_us/caroline_kennedyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13073631.post-20932408230206478592009-01-21T22:57:00.000-05:002009-01-21T22:57:00.000-05:00Wait ... Aren't they supposed to be the "new journalism." Gosh, John, I'm surprised you didn't break this one. I mean, from what you say often on this blog, professional journalists are not necessary. Imagine my shock (horror?) to see you linking to those untrustworthy scoundrels in the MSM!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13073631.post-41452338580123197652009-01-21T21:58:00.000-05:002009-01-21T21:58:00.000-05:00How ironic the excuse that is being abndied about ...How ironic the excuse that is being abndied about for Ms. Kennedy's withdrawal. The reason for her seeking the seat was to carry on the Kennedy legacy in the Senate (which presupposes that her uncle's poor health would not impede her taking on such an onerous task as representing the citizens of New York). But now, her uncle's condidtion is the reason why taking the seat is out of the question. It is so nice to know that double speak is alive and well.
cksAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
