Let's recall the Tet offensive which wiped out the VC as a viable fighting force but which our media told us we "lost". Those who remember the past are determined to repeat it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13073631.post-64246477706745188842008-04-09T06:19:00.000-04:002008-04-09T06:19:00.000-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.machttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14248016116043347912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13073631.post-72808459975665431482008-04-08T21:22:00.000-04:002008-04-08T21:22:00.000-04:00John - For the (misnamed) liberal press, this is a...John - For the (misnamed) liberal press, this is a reprise of Vietnam. Anything to see the US go down to defeat. It reminds of the press and the Democrats in 1864, before Grant's and Sherman's victories. The press, and in particular Horace Greeley, had turned against the war. War weariness had swept the Union and it looked like Lincoln was going to lose the election in November to the Democrat candidate, George McClellan, Lincoln's former Commander of the Army of the Potomac. McClellan, it seemed, was going to call a halt to the war and let the southern states secede. Fortunately, Lincoln won the election, the Union won the war and the rest is history. But since the Civil War, Democrats have a knack for fighting the wrong wars (World War I) and finking out on the right ones, and having the press for the most part slant the news to assist them. (WW II was an exception; the Korean Wars was a consequence of a mistake made by a Democrat, George Kennan, when he indicated the US would not defend South Korea, and the US would have lost face and who knows what else had it not gone to Korea's defense.)

Jack in Silver SpringAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13073631.post-54839037330933515592008-04-08T16:45:00.000-04:002008-04-08T16:45:00.000-04:00Approaching treason to me.Approaching treason to me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
